Our new pastor, the Rev. Sharon Kichline, comes to our church after serving two rural churches in Warren County and before that, Lafayette Park United Methodist Church.
She was confirmed on the steps of South Eagle United Methodist Church, a white-steepled church in a rural community of northern Missouri. She graduated from Brookfield High School, and earned a degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Missouri, Columbia. After a career as a Commercial Lender in the banking industry, Sharon felt the call into Ordained Ministry. She received her Master in Divinity degree from Eden Theological Seminary in Webster Groves in 2007, and was ordained an Elder in the United Methodist Church Missouri Conference in 2010.
Pastor Sharon has led ministry in rural, urban, and suburban churches. She is passionate about connecting persons to Christ and inviting God to move through us, as the hands and feet of Christ in the community. She has led multiple mission teams internationally to Haiti, regionally in the Midwest, and locally to a bevy of agencies and build or clean up projects that seek to transform in the name of Jesus Christ.
In the fall, Sharon will be celebrating her 30th anniversary with her husband, Joel Kichline, an investment counselor. They have been part of the Webster Groves community all their married life, active in scouting through Pack/Troup 303, and merrily performed in a dozen Avery School Plays. They have two adult sons, Glenn and Sam, both graduates of Webster Groves High School. Fun for Pastor Sharon means visiting new places, hiking the national parks, loving their dogs and cats, and reading historical fiction, books on theology, and who-done-its.
