Older children serve as acolytes during the 11 a.m. worship service, lighting the altar candles.
Children are encouraged to help others through various service projects –selling s’mores to help fund camp experiences, collecting canned goods for food pantries or helping serve a meal to the homeless at the Bridge, an interfaith ministry housed at Centenary United Methodist Church.
Youth Describe Mission Trip as Life-Changing
In June 2013, 25 youth and adults from First United Methodist of Webster Groves and from Maplewood United Methodist Church went to West Virginia on a mission trip. The trip allowed the youth to learn new skills and gain a closer relationship with each other and their faith. Enjoy the video:
